Roy J. Park
Roy J. Park is an entrepreneur in addition to being an expert Workers’ Compensation attorney. Roy aligns his thinking and his firm’s processes to the long term goals of his clients, rather than focusing on immediate gains to his firm.
Roy’s business oriented approach to his practice is a result of his years of entrepreneurial work prior to becoming an attorney. Even as a child, Roy was a natural entrepreneur. Once he started receiving an allowance, he quickly learned he could triple his money by buying candy at the grocery store and reselling it at three times the price on the playground. Throughout his educational years he worked in a wide variety of small business jobs, doing everything from cleaning pools to repairing televisions.

Jason approaches his practice with expertise in Workers’ Compensation law, as well as a valuable educational background in biology and physiology and practical experience as a claims adjuster. Jason attended the University of California at Davis for his undergraduate degree where he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Biology with emphases in Neurobiology and Physiology. Jason received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with the high distinction of being a Traynor Honor Society member. Jason’s scientific education gives him a significant advantage working with the medical issues incumbent to the Workers’’ Compensation practice.

Patrick Van attended the University of California at Riverside on the pre-med track and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. He went on to attend Western State College of Law where he graduated with honors. While in law school, Patrick clerked at the West Justice Center, was Lead Articles Editor on Law Review, was a Dean’s Circle Member, and received several Witkin Awards.
Senior Associate - Sacramento
Jessica is a native Texan who was raised in Northern California. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of California in Davis, where she earned Highest Honors. Jessica attended Lincoln Law School of Sacramento, where she was enrolled in the evening program. This allowed Jessica to work throughout law school and gain experience in both civil litigation and Workers' Compensation.
While in law school, Jessica worked as a Hearing Representative for an applicant attorney's office where she gained early experience at WCAB’s from the Sacramento area to the Bay Area.
Associate - OC
Lisa Saukkola was born and raised in Orange County, California. She graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. Lisa went on to attend University of San Diego School of Law, where she earned a spot as a Comments Editor on the San Diego Journal of Climate & Energy Law. While in law school, Lisa also clerked at the Orange County Superior Court and at a civil law firm.
Mrs. Saukkola’s keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and quick responsiveness make her a go-to for legal advice amongst clients and colleagues. Her in-depth knowledge on the Labor Code and MPN regulations give her an edge against opposing counsel.

Curtis Hendryx was born and raised in Sacramento County where he graduated from California State University – Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in History. While working full time as a compliance professional for a local credit union, Curtis attended Lincoln Law School of Sacramento in the evening and graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree.
Since practicing workers’ compensation defense for Roy J. Park & Associates’ Sacramento office, Mr. Hendryx has made it his mission to take a pro-active approach to mitigate claims and keep them on track for early resolution.
Associate - Bay Area
Sai is a proud Bay Area native. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles where she was a Transfer Alliance Program Scholar. After graduating from UCLA, she received her Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School in Indiana. During law school, Sai clerked at a commercial litigation firm and the Law Department for the City of South Bend where she gained experience in all levels of litigation. Sai highly values passion, dedication, and persistence in all aspects of work and life.
Prior to joining Roy J. Park & Associates Sai worked at a busy civil litigation firm in San Francisco where she advised attorneys on California Code of Civil Procedure provisions regarding 998 settlement offers and venue inquires, drafted trial briefs related to medical malpractice and negligence, and prepared special witnesses for depositions.

Samantha was born and raised a proud Oregonian who received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a minor in Spanish from the University of Oregon. At age 21, she made her way to San Diego to attend California Western School of Law. By 23, Samantha was admitted to the California State Bar and started her career in Criminal Defense as a Public Defender. She has worked with a multitude of clientele since then.
Since joining Roy J. Park & Associates Samantha has continuously shown her determination for success with tenacity and strong negotiation skills by obtaining preemptive favorable settlements, often prior to or at depositions.
Associate - Sacramento
Patrick brings a zealous spirit to the firm stemming from his years of playing competitive sports. Patrick is a Sacramento native and attended California State University, Sacramento where he was a member of the men’s soccer team and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Mr. Carden obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego, School of Law. During law school, Patrick focused on acquiring as much practical experience as he could through legal internships and clinics, while balancing three part-time jobs and a full academic course load.

Sloane Tay is a California native, born and raised in Los Angeles. He attended California State University Los Angeles, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. Sloane then obtained his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law where he graduated with Scholastic Merit as a Deans’ Circle Member. Mr. Tay was also the recipient of The Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Corporate Criminal Liability.
While in law school, Sloane was a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office where he drafted pre-trial and post-judgement motions on matters involving plea withdrawals and suppression of evidence.
