Sloane Tay is a California native, born and raised in Los Angeles. He attended California State University Los Angeles, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. Sloane then obtained his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law where he graduated with Scholastic Merit as a Deans’ Circle Member. Mr. Tay was also the recipient of The Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Corporate Criminal Liability.

While in law school, Sloane was a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office where he drafted pre-trial and post-judgement motions on matters involving plea withdrawals and suppression of evidence. While assisting the LA County District Attorney’s office he also prepared and argued felony preliminary hearings. That experience helped build the foundation from which he learned how to question both witnesses and applicants during depositions.

Since joining Park|Guenthart Sloan has successfully defended large national employers, staffing agencies, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. He has conducted settlement negotiations, resolved medical provider liens, handled contribution and reimbursement issues, and has appeared before WCABs throughout Southern California.

Mr. Tay’s passion for workers compensation defense lies in the initial discovery of a case, especially depositions, where his inventive defense strategies and out of the box thinking lead him to settling cases early by way of Compromise and Release.

Sloane is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He enjoys spending his free time running with his two Jack Russell terriers, snowboarding, reading, and listening to music.
