Kirkham L. Hake was born and raised in Sacramento. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Pacific Union College and his Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, where his academic endeavors earned him the Order of the Coif and an American Jurisprudence Award in Insurance Law. Immediately after graduation he sat for the California Bar Exam in December 1996 which he successfully passed.
Mr. Hake has been practicing workers' compensation defense for 15 years. As a fierce veteran, he joined Roy J. Park & Associates with extensive trial expertise. Kirkham has provided outstanding representation of clients in legal proceedings, with writing petitions and when conducting depositions. He has deposed hundreds of claimants, medical and non-medical expert witnesses, and has proceeded to trial over 25 times, having obtained multiple favorable outcomes and Take Nothing Awards. As a seasoned litigator, Kirkham has successfully filed and won Petitions for Reconsideration, thus mitigating his client’s exposure and further proving his valuable defense.
Kirkham has worked with various self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators throughout California. Over his lengthy, successful career in workers’ compensation defense, he has appeared on behalf of his clients at a majority of the WCABs from Southern to Northern California. Since 2016 Kirkham has been exclusively handling cases in the Central/Northern California venues.
When he's off the clock, Kirkham's interests include studying history, war gaming with 1:1200 scale ships, enjoying music and trying to teach himself to play electric guitar.
